急速に緊迫している国際情勢について、岡山大学を代表して、深刻な懸念を表し、SDGs推進を掲げる大学として、いかなる理由があっても、人道上の危機をもたらす戦争には断固として反対であることを、改めて表明します。
岡山大学はアジアで唯一の「持続可能な開発のための教育（ESD）」を推進するユネスコ（国際連合教育科学文化機関）チェアとして、国連機関をはじめとする多様なステークホルダーと共にその活動を地域から世界へ向けて先導してきました。わたしたちは、戦争の惨害から将来の世代を救う「国連憲章」の遵守を再確認し、将来の世代と現在の世代の幸福が両立できる「持続可能な開発のためのアジェンダ2030」の精神を尊重して、「恐怖及び暴力からも自由であり、平和的、公正かつ包摂的な社会」のための早期の平和的解決を強く望みます。
本学は、今後の事態を注視しつつ、関係の方々に寄り添い、種々のサポートなどを準備して参ります。

Statement from President MAKINO Hirofumi of Okayama University on the Tense Situation around the World
On
behalf of Okayama University committed to advance the SDGs, I would
like to express both my deepest concern about the tense situation around
the world and my firm opposition to the war that leads to humanitarian
crisis for any reason whatsoever.
As
the only university in Asia to hold the UNESCO Chair in promoting
Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), Okayama University has led
the way from the region to the world together with multi-stakeholders
including United Nations (UN) agencies. As such, we reaffirm our
adherence to the UN Charter which saves succeeding generations from the
scourge of war, and respect the spirit of the 2030 Agenda for
Sustainable Development which meets the needs of the present without
compromising the ability of future generations. I strongly call for an
immediate and peaceful resolution to secure “peaceful, just and
inclusive societies which are free from fear and violence.”
Okayama University will keep a very close eye on the situation and provide various supports to those involved.
