On February 28, 2018, the Okayama University Headquarter for Promotion of the SDGs was established to guide the university’s activities to achieve the SDGs and to promote efforts to build more integrated partnerships with the local and global communities.
With President Hirofumi Makino serving as Director, the Headquarter will lead the university’s activities in research, education, governance and operation to achieve the SDGs, through establishing partnerships with the local and global communities.
Okayama University is leading university-wide efforts to contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In 2017, we held the world’s first international conference on attainment of SDGs in Okayama City in cooperation with other key organizations. The university was also the only national/public university received the first Japan SDGs Awards organized by the national government.
