On January 11, Okayama University Faculty of Education signed an
interfaculty agreement with the School of Mathematics and Natural
Sciences Mongolian National University of Education (MNUE).
MNUE is located in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, and is a center
for pedagogical research and teacher training in Mongolia. Cooperation
with MNUE has developed over a number of years: in November 2019 Okayama
University organized the “2019 Global Conference on Teacher Education
for Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)”, where we held joint
sessions with MNUE. Furthermore, from 2021 to 2024, Okayama University
is implementing the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS)
Core-to-Core Program (A.Advanced Research Networks) under the project
title “Formation of Center of Excellence to Promote Teacher Education
for ESD: Towards Achieving the SDGs” and MNUE is cooperating with the
program.
Dean MIMURA Yukari from Okayama University Faculty of Education and Dean
Ganbaatar TUMURBAATAR from MNUE School of Mathematics and Natural
Sciences signed the agreement during an online ceremony.
Both faculties will contribute to the development of pedagogical research in Japan and Mongolia by conducting joint research, holding joint seminars and creating opportunities for faculty and student exchange.
